Although these text inmate services might not be as fast or convenient as phone calls, they provide a more private way for prisoners to communicate and can help ease the financial burden of buying expensive stamps, papers, photo printers and visits to money order shops. They can also help prisoners to develop a positive outlook on their lives in prison and play a crucial role in their rehabilitation and integration back into society.
